Few days in Singapore

After spending 2 months in France, I went back to Australia for my second year visa. This time, a friend of mine was with me and we decided to spend few days in Singapore. I’ve enjoyed this stopover to meet up with a friends couple that showed us the secrets of the city.

Where to sleep?

For our part, we’ve decided to stay in Chinatown. A transfer is available from the airport to this suburb. In less than a hour, you arrive at your destination. Amazing no ?

We booked in advance at The Inn at Temple Street. The location was perfect : only minutes away from the train station and in the heart of Chinatown. Our room was a bit small but clean and comfy. Just what we needed. 🙂

What to do?

The most famous touristic site is Sentosa island. There are a lot of touristic attractions such as the Universal Studios, Madame Tussauds, museum or even the SEA Aquarium. All these activities are great but kind of expensive and, in my opinion, it is not really interesting. The island has so much more to offer. 😉

Another site quite famous too is the Gardens of the Bay. This park like no other is really a must-do in Singapour. Really nice during the day, the park enlightens by night and offers you a beautiful show. Around, you can have a drink at the top of Marina Bay Sands or just do some shopping in the shopping center below. If not, you can also do a tour with the big wheel of Singapore Flyer. From up there, you also have a beautiful view on the city. The ride is kind of slow so you can take great pictures. It longs around an hour and is a bit expensive (S$33).

My Singaporean friends gave us the Night safari. Accessible by bus, this safari promise you to have a great time despite the price. You go in the different part of the zoo in a shuttle. One part is done by walk.

They also showed us three other sites. The Henderson Waves Bridge is a really nice bridge in a wave shape. It allows you a nice walk outside at around an hour from the city center. The Haw Par Villa is an open-air art gallery. You will be able to take a lot of pictures. And to finish, they took us to the Bell of Happiness on top of the Faber Mount.

And you, have you been there? Did you like it? 🙂
